Responsibilities
- Support development of Optical Engineering tools and procedures for Optical Design, Analysis, Integration, and Test
- Experience with optical design codes (Zemax, Code V, etc.)
- Experience with mathematical analysis codes (Matlab, Mathematica, MathCad, etc.)
- Opto-mechanical experience
- Knowledge of Optical Metrology (Interferometers, image quality metrics, alignment and test techniques)
- Knowledge of areas within Optical Engineering working with both resolved and unresolved objects in EO-LW wave lengths
- May apply quantitative analysis in determining root cause of highly technical problems and propose, develop and implement solutions for corrective action
- Join a team of similar skilled Optics Engineers, receive training, and operate airborne sensors to collect EO/IR data
- Operate sensors from a workstation in a highly modified business-class Gulfstream G550
- Participate in approximately 10 missions annually lasting 1-2 weeks each
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Optical Engineering, physics, or related field and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience working with optical systems
- Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience
- Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance
