The Role
Under the supervision of the Facilities Manager, the Sr. Assistant Facilities Manager is responsible for assisting in all areas defined as part of the Facility Manager position. This is a management position that will directly and indirectly supervise individuals, building staff, operations, and coordinate across the facilities organization at a specific location, set of buildings, or campus environment. The Sr. Assistant Facilities Manager drives implementation of company best practices in alignment with client goals and objectives to deliver a well-managed and maintained building.
Top Responsibilities
- Manage the building staff in absence of the Facility Manager. Includes all managerial functions.
- Responsible for day-to-day operations of the facility and carried out in a manner consistent with our policies and client directives.
- Ensure all contracts are reviewed on a regular basis and are bid out as required and confirm invoices match contract pricing.
- Supervise all maintenance programs relating to the interior and exterior conditions and appearance of the properties.
- Respond promptly to requests for building maintenance, repairs, cleaning needs, etc.
- Compile information necessary to ensure all site-specific documentation and reports are completed accurately and on time.
- Prepares budgets, financial reports, contracts, expenditures, and purchase orders related to the facility as directed.
- Hire, train, and motivate facility personnel. Maintain positive staff relations. Conduct or approve performance evaluations for staff.
Qualifications
- Associates Degree in facilities management, building, business, or other related field is required.
- Minimum 3 years' relevant experience, preferably in commercial or industrial real estate facility management experience.
- One year supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience in maintenance, construction, engineering, and all facets of property operation and building management preferred.
- CMMS/Work Order Management experience preferred.
- Proficient in understanding management agreements and contract language.
- Excellent computer and systems knowledge.
- Knowledge of financial systems (Yardi a plus).
