Sr. Assembler
About the role
JLG began in 1969 with a mission to improve safety in the construction industry. Today we design, build, and support mobile elevating work platforms, telehandlers, utility vehicles, and accessories used around the world. As an Assembler II, you will partner with customers and teammates to deliver quality equipment by safely assembling and testing a wide range of products on our assembly lines.
Responsibilities
- Assemble parts, wires, hoses, and hydraulics onto JLG/Jerr Dan products using safe and proper tools and techniques.
- Install product accessories such as decals, mud flaps, cameras, and lights, including sales-order changes.
- Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical components and read all related diagrams.
- Make repairs identified during troubleshooting.
- Work proficiently across all stations in the assigned job function.
- Train new team members on processes and equipment functions.
- Use and train others on electronic devices including EQC, MDS, JED, and AS400.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment in compliance with safety procedures, rules, and 6S standards.
- Follow best practices for safe assembly and testing of all models/products in the assigned job function.
- Drive defects back to the point of origin and help implement corrective actions.
- Validate that machine configuration matches the sales order.
- Complete the EQC process accurately.
- Operate all units produced in the assigned job function.
- Use special equipment required for the models produced, including torque tools, DC tools, brake bleeders, AC chargers, and cab testers.
- Set and program product units using tools such as JLG Analyzer for machine configuration and troubleshooting, pressure setting of hydraulic systems, and laptop software upgrades.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Three or more years of relevant experience in manufacturing or general labor.
- Ability to travel 5%.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to drive and test machines or conduct offline inspection on all machines in the assigned facility.
Work Environment

Schedule: Considerable irregularity of hours due to frequent overtime, weekend or shift rotation.
Demands/Deadlines: Occasional stress from deadlines or workload because of intermittent or cyclical work pressures.
