Sr. Applied Scientist, AGI
About the role
The Foundational AI (FAI) team is looking for a passionate, talented, and inventive Applied Scientist with a strong deep learning background to build industry-leading Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) technology with Large Language Models (LLMs). Your work will directly impact our customers in the form of products and services that make use of GenAI technology. You will leverage Amazon’s heterogeneous data sources and large-scale computing resources to accelerate advances in LLMs.
Responsibilities
- Support the development of RL Gyms and assess their usefulness for frontier model advancement.
- Build techniques to advance the state of the art with LLMs.
- Support foundational model development in an applied research role.
About the team
The FAI team has a mission to push the envelope in GenAI with LLMs to provide the best-possible experience for our customers.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience building machine learning models for business applications.
- Experience with large-scale machine learning systems, including profiling, debugging, and understanding system performance and scalability.
- PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience.
- Experience programming in Java, C++, Python, or a related language.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with building agents or training LLMs for agentic tasks.
