Sr. App Developer

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional experience designing, developing, and deploying applications with a focus on backend.
• Experience building and designing scalable backend systems.
• Experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise, with development experience in Java 17/21 and Python, building RESTful backend applications using Spring Boot.
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining high‑throughput, low‑latency data pipelines using Apache Kafka.
• Experience with AWS infrastructure and cloud services (Lambda, ECS/Fargate, API Gateway, CloudWatch, Secrets Manager, IAM).
• Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Effective use of AI tools in day‑to‑day work.
• Familiarity with software engineering development cycles.
• Commitment to writing meaningful unit tests and integration tests.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Work at least three days out of our Pasadena office.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong skills and experience building AI‑powered applications.
• Hands‑on experience with large language models (LLMs), AI agents, or conversational AI.
• Experience with Databricks or similar cloud data‑warehousing platforms.
• Passion for distributed systems and large‑scale data systems.
