Sr. API Automation Lead (Karate tool mandatory)

About the role

The Sr. API Automation Lead will be responsible for leading the API automation efforts using Karate tool. The role involves manual and automation functional testing, with expertise in Java+Selenium, Robo framework, and API integration testing with tools like Postman/SoapUI, Karate.

Responsibilities

• Manual & Automation functional testing
• API (Integration) testing with experience in API testing tools such as Postman/SoapUI, Karate
• Create and present component/E2E test strategy, test plans, test approach, test cases, status and test summary reports to relevant stakeholders
• Design and configure an Agile testing pipeline in CI/CD tools like Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Bamboo, and integrate with JIRA
• Work independently across multiple complex applications and teams in Credit Card Servicing area while paying attention to detail
• Communicate with multiple business/technical teams on agile requirements, draft test artifacts, and adapt them during release cycles
• Identify and advise on gaps in testing coverage and automation best practices
• Participate in software releases and post-release activities, including enhancing test coverage, developing regression test packs, and designing proof of concepts
• Stay updated with new testing tools and technologies and share insights with the team
• Communicate effectively with the team and clients to represent the QE team's voice at various forums and provide release go-ahead to business leadership

Requirements

• Experience with Java+Selenium, Robo framework, and API testing tools like Postman/SoapUI, Karate
• Understanding and implementation of source control and branching strategies using Git
• Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate with multiple teams
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in API automation and testing
