About the role
The Sr. Analyst, Quality Engineer will support Nationwide’s Excess & Specialty Surplus Business Solution Area within the Order of the Phoenix team, whose primary responsibility is the Wholesale ExpressConnect 2.0 application. ExpressConnect 2.0 is a Guidewire InsuranceNow-based platform supporting wholesale commercial insurance capabilities across submission, rating, quoting, binding, policy issuance, policy maintenance, and related integrations.
In this role, the Quality Engineer will work within established team standards and guidance to validate assigned features and changes, partnering with product owners, technology analysts, software engineers, business partners, downstream teams, and other Quality Engineers. The team provides exposure to Guidewire InsuranceNow, commercial insurance workflows, rating and policy behavior, APIs, downstream integrations, cloud modernization, and modern testing practices. The role offers the opportunity to work with experienced engineers, analysts, product partners, and business stakeholders while learning how software moves from requirements through production in an agile environment.
Candidates will contribute to a team that values collaboration, continuous learning, automation, risk-based testing, and measurable improvement. Quality practices include broad regression coverage, recurring critical-suite execution, reduced regression cycle time, and the use of tools such as Glean and GitHub Copilot to support requirements analysis, test-case development, unit-test development, and defect investigation.
