AES Clean Energy Services LLC is seeking a Sr. Analyst, Origination for a hybrid position in Houston, TX.

Responsibilities
- Perform analysis, research, and transactional support for RFP and bilateral origination activity to support wind, solar, energy storage asset development, and the existing portfolio.
- Work with structured origination products, including renewable portfolio PPAs, load-following and carbon-free energy solutions, as well as traditional PPAs, VPPAs, or other financial and physical instruments.
- Collaborate with the origination, commercial, and development teams within AES Clean Energy.
- Support sourcing, negotiation, and execution of long-term power sale agreements to facilitate renewable asset development and meet customer sustainability and carbon-free goals.
- Coordinate with internal teams such as Commercial, Development, Finance, and Engineering to deliver required deliverables for renewable PPA origination transactions.
- Prepare internal and external memos, presentations, and RFP summaries.
- Develop proposals and presentation materials for customers in both RFP processes and bilateral negotiations.
- Monitor renewable energy opportunities and national trends impacting renewable development and competitiveness.
- Support the development of uniform and consistent deal processes across the business.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- 3 years of experience with energy market analysis.
- Experience must include:
- 3 years with Salesforce CRM.
- 1 year with light PPA drafting and contract interpretation.
- 1 year in renewable generation technology (wind, solar, and/or battery storage).
- 1 year in energy markets (PJM, SERC, and/or NYISO).
- 1 year with policies, regulations, and tariffs in various energy markets.
- 3 years gathering market intelligence on different energy markets.
- 1 year with energy, capacity, and environmental attributes of renewable energy products.
- Demonstrated knowledge of:
- Energy market dynamics and project qualities impacting pricing in deregulated and regulated utility markets.
- Generation technology, including natural gas, coal, wind, solar, and battery storage.
- Knowledge may be gained through education, training, or employment. Any suitable combination of education, training, and/or experience will be considered.
