Job Description

Clearing and Settlements within HFS is responsible for affirming, settling, and managing life cycle events related to various securities. This includes equities, bonds, futures, options, repos, and other listed securities. The role involves engaging with clients, brokers, prime brokers, and other Northern Trust teams globally to ensure accurate trade processing and timely settlements.

Major Duties

  • Perform daily review of reconciliations and execute controls to analyze and understand all security and cash position differences related to reconciliations.
  • Efficiently coordinate the break resolution process between clients, operations teams, and custodian banks.
  • Affirmation/Confirmation of equity & fixed income securities in US and International Markets.
  • Manage the settlement of various securities by liaising with brokers and addressing discrepancies in SSIs and trade details.
  • Ensure accuracy of transaction agreements and modifications.
  • Work closely with the implementation team to ensure seamless handoff and setup of new client accounts.
  • Assist with project work related to increasing efficiency and improving control environment.
  • Prioritize time accordingly to action trade breaks by end of day.
  • Effectively address a number of internal and external audiences in a professional manner.
  • Assist in the training of personnel internationally.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree (Finance, Accounting, and Economics preferred) or relevant proven work experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
