Sr. Accounting Specialist

About the role

Next 150 Construction, LLC is responsible for self-perform labor, operated construction equipment, small tools, material, and consumables. The Sr. Accounting Specialist is under broad supervision, responsible for preparing and verifying vendor invoices for goods and services, ensuring that invoices are issued and paid on a timely basis. Occasionally may also process employee reimbursement requests and produce complex reports. Typically works with large or more complex invoices.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and verifies vendor invoices to ensure accuracy.
• Creates and enters invoices into the financial system.
• Ensures prompt payment of invoices.
• Researches and resolves accounts payable issues with vendors.
• Prepares ad-hoc information and statistical breakdowns as directed.
• Processes payments, invoices, and vouchers.
• Verifies calculations, checks or allocates codes, and obtains information for incorrect or incomplete documents.
• Scans statements, ledgers, and accounts to identify unusual or overdue items.
• Prepares and/or verifies computer input where information is coded for computer processing.
• Investigates statements, ledgers, and records to establish facts required to deal with queries.
• Collaborates internally with Site Services Planner, Equipment Managers, Accounting Department, the Supply Chain organization, and project teams.
• Understands and has knowledge of contract agreements.
• Works with vendors, subcontractors, dealers, maintenance shops, Jobsite Personnel, supporting internal and external customers, and other third parties for invoice reviews and addressing discrepancies.

Experience/Education

• Associate’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Expertise in both accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
• Knowledge of construction accounting a plus.
• Basic understanding of sales and use tax.

Skills & Abilities

• Close attention to detail.
• Problem-solving skills required.
• CMiC experience a plus.
• Strong computer skills with proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and experience with CMIC preferred.

Pay

Salary to be determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. For Missouri, this ranges from $58,000.00 to $75,000.00.
