Where You Will Work
This hybrid position is based out of the Mankato, MN; Bloomington, IL; Prairie du Sac, WI; or Lakeville, MN office locations, with up to 50% remote work.
Responsibilities
Accounting
- Complete daily accounting reconciliations and general ledger balancing related to loan accounting transactions
- Process and analyze organizational fees
- Create and review accounting system entries using appropriate general ledger accounts, procedures, and accounting principles for routine and moderately complex transactions
- Review and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accurate monthly balances
Financial Operations Support
- Provide technical support to team members and vendors regarding general ledger, client transactions, subsidiary accounts, and financial systems in accordance with company policies
- Resolve issues in a timely manner, including moderately complex and complex situations
- Monitor team inbox and respond to questions via email or phone
- Assist in other general accounting functions and department mailings as needed
Reporting
- Use available information on accounting systems to create processes and distribute department and management reports for decision-making
- Assist in identifying trends and interpreting report information
- Create spreadsheets for data inputs, allocations, accruals, and calculations impacting financial statements
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Minimum of 5 years of related work experience, preferably in the financial services industry
- Advanced knowledge of federal and state (Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin) laws, regulations, and compliance requirements specific to the financial industry and Farm Credit
- Advanced knowledge of basic accounting and finance principles
- Advanced knowledge of IRS rules and guidelines
- Strong listening, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all organizational levels
- Skill in developing and maintaining interpersonal relationships
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and related accounting/report-writing software
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing situations
- Ability to balance business needs and risk objectively
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively to achieve goals
- Valid driver’s license
Pay
Base pay range: $60,700 - $91,500 USD. This role is eligible for variable compensation and other benefits. The actual title and base pay offered depend on factors such as training, skills, experience, business needs, and market demands.
