Sr. Accounting Program Manager, Global Entity Expansion and Restructure
About the role
The Global Entity Expansion and Restructure team is the centralized accounting function responsible for program management of legal entity formation, restructure, and closure. The team sets processes and standards to support diligence, document preparation, and leadership approval of these corporate projects. Program managers work across global stakeholders—including Businesses, Tax, Legal, FinOps, Treasury, HR, and Accounting—to ensure controllership, consistency, and visibility of critical corporate projects.
In this role, you will serve as an advisor to business teams and own the transaction approval workstream for director review. You will support global entity formation and restructure projects across a wide range of business teams, collaborating with cross-department leaders and functional accounting teams to ensure seamless processes from proposal to approval and financial system setup.
This fast-paced environment requires managing ambiguity, complexity, and multiple simultaneous projects impacting the global organization. Key leadership principles for this role include Earn Trust, Learn and Be Curious, Ownership, Invent and Simplify, Bias for Action, and Deliver Results.
Responsibilities
- Work independently to lead projects supporting Amazon’s corporate structure, ensuring appropriate business support and controllership.
- Deliver complex cross-functional projects and prioritize work for global project teams while monitoring transactions to maintain standards.
- Identify and communicate project risks to senior leadership, providing clear recommendations for resolution or mitigation.
- Manage risks across disparate business functions, driving mitigation and resolution.
- Build relationships across multiple teams within Amazon to foster collaboration and productivity.
- Work cross-functionally on global business launches, influencing strategy and communicating with senior leadership within and outside of accounting.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in finance or a related analytical field.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA certification.
- Knowledge of internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO) to assess control design and operational efficiency.
- Experience with GAAP research tools and the FASB codification.
- Experience in accounting management at a Big Four firm with Fortune 500 clients.
- Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions.
Skills
- Excellent communication and organization skills, including the ability to anticipate, identify, and communicate risks to senior leadership.
- Strong project management skills, with experience in financial processes, accounting conclusion documentation, and process design.
- Ability to manage ambiguity and complexity in a fast-paced environment.
Pay
Base salary ranges by location:
- Culver City, CA: $95,400 – $163,200 USD annually
- North Reading, MA: $95,400 – $163,200 USD annually
- Portland, OR: $95,400 – $163,200 USD annually
- Nashville, TN: $85,900 – $146,900 USD annually
- Austin, TX: $95,400 – $163,200 USD annually
- Arlington, VA: $95,400 – $163,200 USD annually
- Seattle, WA: $95,400 – $163,200 USD annually
Compensation package includes sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
