Sr Accounting Manager – Technical Accounting & Reporting
The Sr. Accounting Manager at Lanteris Space Systems supports technical accounting, financial reporting, and SOX compliance in a fast-paced environment. The role is based in Palo Alto, CA or can be performed remotely, with preference given to remote candidates in the CST zone.
About the Role
This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional with strong U.S. GAAP expertise, public company experience, and advanced SAP knowledge, who thrives in complex, high-accountability environments.
Responsibilities
- Own and prepare technical accounting memos for complex and non-routine transactions (revenue recognition, leases, accruals, inventory, etc.)
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Lead and support month-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and flux analysis
- Support and maintain SOX compliance and internal control framework, including documentation and testing
- Partner with external auditors on accounting positions and audit deliverables
- Perform variance analysis and provide clear financial insights
- Drive process improvements and close efficiency initiatives
- Support and optimize systems, including SAP, FloQast, and LeaseQuery
- Manage a team of direct reports
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen or permanent resident
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- CPA required
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience in public accounting and/or publicly traded company environment, Big 4 strongly preferred
- Experience with U.S. GAAP and technical accounting research
- Experience preparing technical accounting memos in a public or audit environment
- Experience with SOX implementation, control design and testing
- Experience with financial reporting and month-end close
Qualifications
- Experience with FloQast and/or LeaseQuery
- Advanced SAP experience
- Strong technical accounting and documentation skills

Pay
The base pay for this position within California is: $138,000.00 - $230,000.00 annually.
