Sr Accountant II

Overview

The part-time Sr. Accountant II will be a key member of the Finance Organization at Blue Yonder Defense Solutions, responsible for providing support to the company's accounting and financial reporting functions 8 to 10 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Assist Financial management with various special projects as needed and directed for 8 to 10 hours per week
• Support the company's accounting and financial reporting functions, including the preparation of financial statements and reports
• Proactively identify, research, and resolve issues relating to accounting and finance assigned duties
• Prepare and maintain accurate and complete records of the company's financial transactions
• Perform various accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet analysis
• Collaborate with other members of the finance team to support financial reporting and analysis needs
• Stay current on accounting principles, standards, and best practices, making recommendations for process improvements as needed
• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of the company's financial records
• Assist with the audit process and provide support to external auditors as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and financial reporting, preferably in government contracting (govcon)
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, standards, and best practices
• Proven experience in preparing financial statements and reports
• Excellent computer skills with an emphasis on MS Excel
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience with accounting systems and technologies is a plus

Pay

The hourly rate for this position is $60.00 to $75.00 per hour. The salary range reflects the anticipated base salary based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual salary will be commensurate with skills, experience, certifications or licenses, and other relevant factors. This role is also eligible to participate in either the annual performance bonus or commission program, determined by the nature of the position.
