This role supports Amazon's global accounting operations through financial reporting, technical accounting research, and cross-functional collaboration.

The Corporate Accountant may support corporate reporting functions such as external reporting, corporate functional accounting, intercompany accounting, transfer pricing, equity accounting, treasury/funding, or entity restructuring. You will partner with business teams across AWS, Digital, Stores, Payments, Advertising, and International operations, requiring risk assessment, control considerations, and process improvement in a complex, high-growth environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and/or manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation
  • Support the preparation, review, and filing of SEC reports (10-Q, 8-K, 10-K) and other external filings as applicable
  • Own end-to-end processes to support finance and business partners; lead delivery of accounting tasks and projects
  • Execute judgments to keep projects moving and ensure timely decision-making for monthly close
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders including Finance, Legal, Tax, Treasury, Technology, and Statutory Accounting teams to assess accounting implications of business initiatives
  • Assess the effectiveness of controls and participate in designing new controls for emerging business activities
  • Identify and implement process improvement and automation opportunities; drive global projects to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
  • Proactively research, document, and communicate technical accounting positions and memorandums on significant transactions
  • Assess risks, evaluate internal control considerations, and escalate issues to leadership with context and recommendations
  • Analyze complex processes and systems data to identify root causes and surface insights

About the team

The Global Transfer Pricing Close and Reporting team is responsible for the worldwide accounting of Amazon's intercompany transfer pricing transactions. The team ensures charges are accurate, compliant with the arm's length principle, and booked on time across Amazon's global entity structure. This is an agile, high-ownership team that moves fast and takes pride in precision. We partner closely with tax and finance teams across the business.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of Fortune 500 operational accounting experience
  • CPA certification
  • Knowledge of internal control frameworks (specifically COSO) to assess control design and operational efficiency
  • Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification
  • Experience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients
  • Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions

Pay

  • USA, CA, Culver City: $72,600.00 - $117,100.00 USD annually
  • USA, MA, Boston: $66,900.00 - $117,100.00 USD annually
  • USA, OR, Portland: $66,900.00 - $117,100.00 USD annually
  • USA, TN, Nashville: $60,200.00 - $105,400.00 USD annually
  • USA, TX, Austin: $66,900.00 - $117,100.00 USD annually
  • USA, VA, Arlington: $66,900.00 - $117,100.00 USD annually
  • USA, WA, Seattle: $82,700.00 - $117,100.00 USD annually
