About the role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team at 686 Apparel. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive accounting support and expertise, ensuring timely and accurate month-end reconciliations, routine accounting activities, and financial statement analysis.
Responsibilities
- Ensure timely completion of journal entries, financial statement support schedules, and management reports
- Perform GL reporting and expense analysis
- Complete daily DTC cash applications and bank reconciliations
- Analyze transactions, events, and circumstances affecting assets, liabilities, and equity
- Create and maintain process standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Leverage AI and automation tools to streamline accounting processes, improve efficiency, and reduce manual effort
- Avoid and resolve discrepancies between general ledger accounts and subsidiary ledgers
- Participate in month-end and year-end closing procedures and financial statement reporting in accordance with US GAAP
- Assist in annual financial statement audits, reviews, and tax preparation by preparing audit schedules and reconciliations
- Validate filings and reports for monthly and quarterly sales and use tax returns
- Oversee the 1099 process and filings
- Support and liaise with team members in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Assist with other ad hoc and/or finance-related assignments
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
- CPA certification preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience
- Experience with financial systems and software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Qualifications
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Experience with financial modeling and forecasting
- Understanding of corporate governance and compliance standards
Skills
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions
- Experience with financial reporting and analysis
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities
