What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant with a background in retail accounting, preferably online retail, and a strong understanding of inventory accounting. This role will report directly to the Financial Controller and will play a critical part in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting financial decision-making as the company scales.
Key Responsibilities
- Aid in the preparation of monthly financial statements, account reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Manage day-to-day inventory accounting, including cost tracking, reconciliations, and inventory valuation.
- Achieve accurate recording of revenue, expenses, and COGS, aligning with retail best practices.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations and supply chain, to monitor inventory levels and resolve discrepancies.
- Aid in financial audits, tax filings, and compliance requirements.
- Contribute to process improvements and system enhancements for efficiency and scalability.
Requirements
- Obtain a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Have 5+ years of accounting experience, with a strong preference for retail (online retail experience is a plus).
- Show a solid understanding of inventory accounting, including standard costing, reconciliations, and valuation.
- Be proficient in ERP or accounting software (Ideally NetSuite, or similar).
- Show proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools.
- Show strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Show ability to work in a fast-paced, growing environment and collaborate across teams.
