Sr. Accountant
Responsibilities
- Lead monthly close activities by preparing schedules, reviewing financial data, and helping ensure timely completion of reporting deadlines.
- Maintain the general ledger by recording, analyzing, and validating financial transactions across assigned accounts.
- Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation and a high degree of accuracy.
- Perform account reconciliations on a recurring basis to identify discrepancies, resolve variances, and support clean financial reporting.
- Complete bank reconciliations by comparing cash activity to internal records and investigating unmatched items.
- Review account activity and balances to help improve accuracy, consistency, and compliance with accounting standards.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to gather needed financial information and support routine accounting deliverables.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience managing month-end close processes in an accounting environment.
- Strong working knowledge of general ledger structure and daily accounting operations.
- Proven ability to prepare and review journal entries accurately and efficiently.
- Hands-on experience completing account reconciliations and resolving exceptions.
- Background in performing bank reconciliations and researching cash-related discrepancies.
- High level of attention to detail with strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a Contract role.
