Responsibilities
- Lead key parts of the monthly close cycle by preparing journal entries, recording accruals, and helping shorten the overall close timeline.
- Maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances or discrepancies to ensure reliable financial reporting.
- Manage cash and banking activity, including detailed bank reconciliations and efforts to improve efficiency through automation.
- Support financial reporting by analyzing results, preparing schedules, and explaining fluctuations against forecasts or budgets.
- Partner with teams across operations and other business functions to gather data, resolve issues, and improve the flow of financial information.
- Oversee billing support activities by preparing invoices and assisting with collection follow-up to promote timely cash receipt.
- Aid in external audit requests by organizing documentation, answering inquiries, and helping maintain audit readiness throughout the year.
- Contribute to internal control development, accounting policy support, and other special projects tied to process improvement and business growth.
- Participate in cost-focused and operational reviews, including analysis related to inventory, manufacturing activity, and job cost performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- At least 3 years of public accounting audit experience, with additional private industry exposure preferred.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and hands-on experience with financial reporting and month-end close activities.
- Background in manufacturing and inventory accounting, including reconciliations and related analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare journal entries, maintain general ledger accuracy, and complete account reconciliations.
- Proficiency in Excel and experience working with accounting or ERP systems.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, work independently, and adapt effectively within a lean and evolving team.
- Clear communication skills and a proactive approach to collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
