About the role
We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team in Columbus, Ohio. In this Contract to permanent position, you will play a key part in managing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in accounting processes, and supporting the organization's financial goals. The ideal candidate will have expertise in general ledger accounting and experience with QuickBooks Desktop. This position is fully on-site in Columbus, OH.
Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including bill payments and invoice entry.
- Perform month-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Prepare and post journal entries, including adjusting and monthly entries, to maintain financial records.
- Reconcile accounts and bank statements to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Utilize QuickBooks Desktop to manage financial transactions and maintain the general ledger.
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Collaborate with team members to support loan closing and grant approval processes, as needed.
- Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in accounting, with expertise in general ledger and journal entry preparation.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and other accounting systems.
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.
- Ability to perform account and bank reconciliations accurately.
- Familiarity with month-end close procedures and financial reporting.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Experience in commercial real estate accounting is a plus.
