Sr. Accountant

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly close activities by preparing schedules, reviewing account activity, and helping ensure financial results are completed accurately and on time.
• Maintain the general ledger by recording and validating financial transactions in alignment with company policies and accounting standards.
• Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate documentation, analysis, and attention to detail.
• Perform account reconciliations on a recurring basis, identify discrepancies, and resolve outstanding items promptly.
• Complete bank reconciliations by comparing cash activity to internal records and investigating variances.
• Analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts to support accurate reporting and strengthen financial controls.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to gather supporting information, clarify accounting issues, and improve close efficiency.
• Aid in process updates or accounting-related system changes when needed, ensuring records remain consistent and properly documented.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a senior-level accounting role with direct responsibility for month-end close activities.
• Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entry preparation, and account analysis.
• Hands-on experience completing account reconciliations and bank reconciliations with a high degree of accuracy.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting practices.
• Ability to investigate variances, resolve discrepancies, and maintain detailed supporting documentation.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with accounting systems and spreadsheet tools used for financial analysis and reporting.
