Sr. Accountant

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in East Brunswick, New Jersey. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in managing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in reporting, and contributing to budgeting and forecasting efforts. This position requires someone with strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and expertise in accounting practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform reconciliations of general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Manage the month-end close process, including preparing necessary journal entries and adjustments.
• Reconcile bank accounts and investigate discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Produce detailed financial reports to aid in decision-making and strategy.
• Oversee inventory management processes to ensure accurate tracking and valuation.
• Maintain and manage fixed asset records, including depreciation schedules.
• Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets and forecasts to support organizational goals.
• Utilize Sage accounting software to streamline financial operations and reporting.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in month-end close processes and general ledger management.
• Strong skills in journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Proficiency in bank reconciliation and troubleshooting discrepancies.
• Familiarity with Sage accounting software or similar platforms.
• Solid knowledge of financial reporting and analysis.
• Expertise in managing inventory and fixed assets.
• Ability to develop and monitor budgets and forecasts.
