Sr. Accountant

About the role

This Contract to permanent position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, detail-oriented individual to contribute to full-cycle accounting operations, including month-end close, reconciliations, and journal entries. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in accounting systems and a commitment to accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Manage the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare and review journal entries to maintain the integrity of financial records.
• Perform reconciliations for balance sheets, bank accounts, and other financial accounts.
• Oversee general ledger activities and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Maintain and update inventory records, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting.
• Utilize accounting systems such as NetSuite or Shopify to streamline financial processes.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment on accounting practices and procedures.
• Provide support for audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes impacting accounting functions.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in full-cycle accounting, including month-end close and reconciliations.
• Proficiency in preparing journal entries and managing general ledger accounts.
• Strong understanding of balance sheet and bank reconciliation processes.
• Familiarity with accounting systems; experience with NetSuite or Shopify is highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to adapt to new systems and technologies quickly.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
