Sr. Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Accountant to support project accounting activities within the property accounting department. This is a short term contract position based in Dallas, Texas, ideal for a detail-oriented individual with extensive experience in account reconciliation and financial analysis. The role requires a detail-oriented individual capable of handling complex accounting tasks and contributing to process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough reconciliations of complex accounts, including cash accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Analyze existing accounting processes and propose enhancements to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Investigate account discrepancies and determine the impact of journal entries on financial statements.
• Utilize Excel extensively for data analysis and organization to support accounting activities.
• Apply expertise in month-end close procedures, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
• Manage general ledger activities, including preparing and reviewing journal entries.
• Conduct detailed bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Leverage BlackLine for account reconciliation tasks and workflow management.
• Utilize Great Plains Accounting software for various accounting operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, with a focus on project and property accounting.
• Proficiency in performing complex account reconciliations and financial analysis.
• Advanced knowledge of month-end close processes and general ledger activities.
• Strong Excel skills, including data analysis and organization.
• Experience with BlackLine for reconciliation and workflow management.
• Familiarity with Great Plains Accounting software is highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical skills to identify and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
