Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations for a portfolio of multifamily real estate assets, ensuring financial records remain accurate and up to date.
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly close activities to support timely reporting.
- Maintain the general ledger and investigate variances or discrepancies to ensure reliable financial data.
- Produce recurring financial statements and supporting schedules for property-level and portfolio reporting.
- Partner with internal teams to track transactions, resolve accounting issues, and improve reporting accuracy.
- Assist with annual audits, compliance requirements, and the preparation of documentation requested by external parties.
- Monitor property-related expenses, accruals, and balance sheet activity to support effective financial oversight.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Prior public audit experience strongly preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience in property accounting is required.
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and monthly close procedures.
- Experience working with financial reporting, reconciliations, and journal entry preparation.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and organization.
- Proficiency in standard accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented setting.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates should have a strong background in accounting principles and practical experience in property accounting. They should be able to handle complex financial tasks and possess excellent organizational and analytical skills.
