Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations for a portfolio of multifamily real estate assets, ensuring financial records remain accurate and up to date.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly close activities to support timely reporting.
  • Maintain the general ledger and investigate variances or discrepancies to ensure reliable financial data.
  • Produce recurring financial statements and supporting schedules for property-level and portfolio reporting.
  • Partner with internal teams to track transactions, resolve accounting issues, and improve reporting accuracy.
  • Assist with annual audits, compliance requirements, and the preparation of documentation requested by external parties.
  • Monitor property-related expenses, accruals, and balance sheet activity to support effective financial oversight.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • Prior public audit experience strongly preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in property accounting is required.
  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and monthly close procedures.
  • Experience working with financial reporting, reconciliations, and journal entry preparation.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and organization.
  • Proficiency in standard accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented setting.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates should have a strong background in accounting principles and practical experience in property accounting. They should be able to handle complex financial tasks and possess excellent organizational and analytical skills.
