Responsibilities
- Oversee core close-cycle activities by preparing journal entries, recording accruals, and helping ensure month-end and year-end deadlines are met accurately.
- Compile and review financial reports for monthly, quarterly, and annual periods while supporting compliance with applicable accounting standards.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, including balance sheet and income statement activity, and investigate variances or discrepancies to resolution.
- Contribute to budgeting and forecasting efforts by analyzing financial results and explaining performance against plan.
- Maintain adherence to internal control expectations, established accounting procedures, and relevant reporting requirements.
- Support external audit requests, assist with tax-related documentation, and help prepare materials for regulatory reporting obligations.
- Work closely with FP&A, operations, and other business partners to provide financial insight that supports planning and decision-making.
- Recommend and help implement improvements that strengthen accounting workflows, documentation, and overall process efficiency.
- Organize and maintain clear supporting records for transactions, reconciliations, and financial reporting deliverables.
- Offer day-to-day guidance to less experienced accounting team members when needed.
Requirements
- 5+ years of accounting experience, including work in a senior-level accounting capacity.
- Strong hands-on experience with month-end close, general ledger activity, and preparation of journal entries.
- Demonstrated ability to complete account reconciliations and bank reconciliations with a high degree of accuracy.
- Background supporting financial reporting, variance analysis, and compliance with internal accounting controls.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment, including understanding of finance operations within global manufacturing organizations.
- Proficiency in analyzing financial data, identifying inconsistencies, and resolving issues in a timely manner.
- Ability to collaborate across functions and communicate effectively with finance leaders and operational stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Professionally certified accountant (CPA) preferred.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
