Sr. Accountant
About the role
We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team in Baltimore, Maryland. This Contract to permanent position is ideal for an experienced individual with a strong background in accounting, financial reporting, and reconciliations. The role involves ensuring accuracy in financial processes, supporting audits, and managing various accounting functions across multiple departments.
Responsibilities
- Support accountants with daily activity and provide guidance as needed.
- Prepare and upload reports.
- Prepare year-end tax reports.
- Handle banking activities, including approving wire payments and troubleshooting financial systems.
- Maintain fixed asset schedules, prepare monthly depreciation entries, and reconcile accounts.
- Assist in troubleshooting financial statement errors and manage large-scale data projects.
- Prepare annual reports and schedules for external auditors.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial tools.
- Strong knowledge of payroll tax deposits and year-end closings.
- Experience with automated clearing house (ACH) transactions.
- Familiarity with general ledger, journal entries, and account reconciliation.
- Solid understanding of fixed assets management and monthly reporting.
- Ability to handle bank reconciliations and accounts payable processes.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
