This role is based in Solon, Ohio, and is part-time, around 25 hours per week.
About the role
We are looking for a Part-Time Senior Accountant to support core accounting operations and deliver accurate, timely financial information for the business. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in general ledger accounting, sharp analytical skills, and the ability to work across teams to strengthen financial accuracy and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries while maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger.
- Contribute to monthly and annual close activities by completing assigned accounting tasks within established deadlines.
- Reconcile balance sheet and bank accounts, investigate discrepancies, and resolve outstanding items promptly.
- Analyze financial results and explain variances to support management reporting and business decision-making.
- Assist in the preparation of recurring financial reports and ensure information is complete, reliable, and well organized.
- Partner with colleagues in other departments to gather data, clarify transactions, and improve the quality of financial records.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes by compiling financial data and identifying meaningful trends.
- Help maintain internal control standards and provide documentation needed for audit requests and compliance reviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5–8 years of accounting experience with a focus on financial reporting, general ledger activity, and period-end close.
- Demonstrated experience preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations.
- Strong understanding of variance analysis, financial statement support, and accounting best practices.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with PowerPoint is also valued.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as Acumatica, NetSuite, or Macola.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines, work independently, and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
