Sr. Accountant

Position Summary

Supports the Humboldt Park Health (HPH) Finance Department through general accounting and analysis to support financial statement preparation, month-end closing, financial audit, internal auditing and controls, financial reporting and treasury and cash management reporting.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Improves financial statement presentation, ensures meaningful financial reporting, accuracy, data integrity and timeliness.
• Provides general accounting, including journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations and analysis of assigned accounts for month-end closing.
• Safeguards fixed assets, subsidiary accounting, and financial statements, and consolidated financial statements.
• Ensures HPH is audit ready in all areas of responsibility and achieves team goal of no audit adjustments and no material weaknesses or significant deficiencies in Internal Controls.
• Prepares audit work papers and analysis for year-end financial audit.
• Supports daily and monthly bank and cash reporting and accounting reconciliations.
• Ensures timely quarterly and annual filings.
• Affirms internal audits and documentation of internal controls.
• Supports the budgeting process and strategic initiatives of HPH with financial reporting, financial modeling, and analysis.
• Supports government and other external financial and statistical reporting.
• Leads process and profit improvement initiatives in Fixed Assets, Accounts Payable, and other signed areas.
• Provides financial leadership and training to HPH leadership team.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Certified Public Accountant preferred
• Healthcare experience is highly desirable
