Sr. Accountant/Accounting Manager

Karla Estrada with Robert Half is looking for an experienced accounting specialist (fully remote, West Coast only) to lead core financial operations for a growing technology company.

About the role

This role will oversee essential close activities, support accurate financial reporting, and manage accounting processes across domestic and international entities. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, payroll experience, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly close activities, including billing support, revenue treatment, prepaid expense tracking, and accrual preparation.
• Reconcile balance sheet and profit and loss accounts to maintain accurate and timely financial records.
• Administer payroll processing and record related journal entries for both U.S. operations and international subsidiaries.
• Partner with Human Resources to support compensation and employee benefits accounting matters.
• Manage end-to-end accounting responsibilities for subsidiary entities, ensuring compliance and consistency across records.
• Assist with annual audit preparation and coordinate support for corporate tax reporting requirements.
• Prepare and post general ledger entries while helping maintain the integrity of financial data.
• Contribute to special projects and other accounting initiatives as business needs evolve.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of accounting experience, preferably within a technology-focused organization.
• Hands-on experience with month-end close, general ledger activity, and journal entry preparation.
• Proven background in account reconciliation, including balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
• Practical experience processing payroll and supporting related accounting activities.
• Strong proficiency with NetSuite is required.
• Familiarity with expense management and payroll platforms such as Expensify, Paylocity, or similar systems.
• Excellent organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
