About the role

Join our dynamic account servicing team as a Senior Account Manager and become a vital part of our collaborative culture that fosters professional growth. In this role, you will work closely with Advisors and Account Executives to provide exceptional service to our valued clients, manage the renewal and marketing process, and lead open enrollment presentations. You will also craft materials for presentations and communications, support day-to-day client servicing, and proactively drive efficient service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively manage relationships with carrier and client contacts, taking a significant role in meetings and calls.
  • Handle the renewal and marketing process from start to finish in conjunction with Account Executives and Advisors.
  • Review benefit plan summaries and carrier source documents for accuracy, understanding sophisticated regulatory language and rules.
  • Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with clients and their employees, leveraging knowledge of various insurance coverages.
  • Build relationships with carrier representatives to better understand available products and recommend them to clients.
  • Act as the subject matter authority on benefits and vendor/carrier products, seeking assistance on complex situations from senior team members.
  • Anticipate client needs and work with Account Executives/Advisors to resolve issues.
  • Review request for proposals and insurance plan analyses, negotiate with carriers, and recommend renewal actions.
  • Draft client presentations in collaboration with Account Executives or Advisors and take an active role in client meetings.
  • Update benefit guides and ensure client resources and communications are current following open enrollment or coverage changes.
  • Prepare documents and data for annual client compliance audits; may take an active role in presentation.
  • Address client requests, including product or vendor service or performance challenges.
  • Ensure the 5500 form is filed and completed on time.
  • Provide updates to clients regarding industry trends, regulatory issues, and alternative funding strategies.
  • Offer proactive client service support in conjunction with the account management team.
  • Oversee client projects such as implementation of new business, open enrollment, and inclusivity testing.
  • Interpret plan rules to ensure compliance with Plan Documents and Summary Plan Descriptions.
  • Provide informal leadership and training to more junior team members based on experience.
  • May manage an assigned book of business and serve as a mentor to junior team members.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of benefits administration, HealthCare Reform, industry trends, carrier products, and services.
  • Ability to work independently and anticipate client and team needs.
  • Effective time management and decision-making skills.
  • Diligent follow-up skills and ability to express ideas clearly in both written and oral communications.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Commanding presentation and public speaking abilities.
  • BA/BS preferred or equivalent experience considered.
  • Typically more than five years of industry and product line experience.
  • Life, Accident, and Health Insurance License required.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $85,000 to $100,000. The offered salary will be determined by factors including experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level, scope of the position, and geographic location. This position may also be eligible for performance-based incentives.
