About the Role

Join our dynamic account servicing team as a Senior Account Manager. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with Advisors and Account Executives to deliver exceptional service to our valued clients. You’ll lead the renewal and marketing process from start to finish, create presentation materials, support day-to-day client servicing, and take a leadership role in open enrollment presentations and communications. Your active participation in client meetings will help build and maintain strong relationships with clients and carrier contacts, while driving efficient and effective service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively manage relationships with carrier and client contacts, taking a significant role in meetings and calls.
  • Handle the renewal and marketing process from start to finish in collaboration with Account Executives and Advisors.
  • Review benefit plan summaries and carrier source documents for accuracy, interpreting complex regulatory language and rules.
  • Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with clients and their employees, leveraging knowledge of insurance coverages.
  • Build relationships with carrier representatives to understand available products and services, recommending them to clients.
  • Act as a subject matter authority on benefits and vendor/carrier products, seeking assistance on complex situations from senior team members.
  • Anticipate client needs and work with Account Executives/Advisors to resolve them.
  • Review request for proposals and insurance plan analyses, negotiate with carriers, and recommend renewal actions.
  • Draft client presentations in collaboration with Account Executives or Advisors; take an active role in client meetings.
  • Update benefit guides and ensure client resources and communications are current following open enrollment or coverage changes.
  • Prepare documents and data for annual client compliance audits; may present findings.
  • Address client requests, including product or vendor service or performance challenges.
  • Ensure timely filing and completion of the 5500 form.
  • Provide updates to clients on industry trends, regulatory issues, and alternative funding strategies.
  • Support proactive client service in conjunction with the account management team.
  • Oversee client projects such as new business implementation, open enrollment, and inclusivity testing.
  • Interpret plan rules to ensure compliance with Plan Documents and Summary Plan Descriptions.
  • Provide informal leadership and training to junior team members based on experience.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of benefits administration, HealthCare Reform, industry trends, carrier products, and services.
  • Ability to work independently and anticipate client and team needs.
  • Effective time management and decision-making skills.
  • Strong follow-up skills and ability to express ideas clearly in written and oral communications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Commanding presentation and public speaking abilities.
  • BA/BS preferred or equivalent experience considered.
  • Typically more than five years of industry and product line experience.
  • Life, Accident, and Health Insurance License required.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $85,000 to $100,000. The offered salary will be determined by factors including experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level, scope of the position, and geographic location. This position may also be eligible for performance-based incentives.
