SQL SERVER DATABASE ENGINEER
About The Role
Congrete Vision is seeking a SQL Server Database Engineer to support and enhance their web-based software platform for the precast concrete industry. This role focuses on database design, SQL development, performance optimization, data integrity, reporting support, troubleshooting, and collaboration with software developers and support teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server databases, stored procedures, views, functions, triggers, and queries.
- Optimize SQL queries and database performance for large datasets and high-usage environments.
- Analyze execution plans and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks.
- Create and maintain indexes, constraints, and database structures.
- Aid with database architecture and schema improvements.
- Maintain database health, consistency, and reliability.
- Troubleshoot production issues related to data, performance, or application integration.
- Assist support and development teams with customer-related database issues.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term solutions.
- Validate data accuracy and integrity across integrated systems.
- Support reporting initiatives using SQL queries and reporting tools.
- Assist with report optimization and data extraction.
- Collaborate with teams using Power BI, Telerik Reporting, or other reporting platforms.
- Create reusable datasets and reporting procedures.
- Work closely with software developers, QA, implementation teams, and support staff.
- Participate in planning sessions for workflow improvements and system enhancements.
- Help improve internal processes, automation, and deployment workflows.
- Document database structures, procedures, and best practices.
Qualifications
- Highest level of analytical and detail-oriented skills.
- Proven experience with Microsoft SQL Server environments, with a track record of improving database performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Strong proficiency in T-SQL development, including writing and maintaining complex queries.
- Demonstrated experience with query optimization and database performance tuning.
- Solid understanding of relational database design and data normalization principles.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve database performance and data integrity issues.
- Experience with database backup, recovery, and routine maintenance processes.
- Experience with reporting tools such as Power BI, SSRS, Telerik Reporting, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, manufacturing software, or operational business environments.
- Experience supporting SaaS or web-based applications and related database environments.
- Exposure to ETL processes, data integrations, and API-driven data workflows.
Pay
$75,000 - $90,000/year based on location and experience.
