About the role
This role is responsible for leading and overseeing food safety and quality programs to ensure compliance with SQF (Safe Quality Food) standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. The SQF and Quality Manager develops, implements, and maintains policies, systems, and training to foster a strong food safety culture across all departments and ensures continuous improvement in food safety and quality performance.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage SQF food safety and quality programs.
- Maintain adherence to SQF certification requirements, regulatory standards, and customer expectations.
- Lead internal audits, inspections, and corrective action programs.
- Track food safety and quality metrics and report results to senior leadership.
- Partner with Operations, Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to ensure compliance.
- Provide guidance to SQF coordinators and facilitate employee training programs.
- Oversee supplier approval, auditing, and monitoring processes.
- Drive initiatives to enhance food safety culture and quality performance.
- Ensure compliance with GMPs, sanitation, and hygiene rules.
- Identify and mitigate food safety risks.
- Lead investigations of food safety incidents and recalls.
- Communicate food safety policies effectively across all staff.
- Participate in audits, inspections, and certification processes.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Quality Assurance, or related field preferred.
- 7-10 years of experience in food safety, quality, ISO 9001, or SQF management in a manufacturing or packaging environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of SQF, HACCP, GMP, and regulatory compliance programs.
- Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Proven ability to develop and implement food safety programs, training, and documentation.
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and solution-focused.
