About Our Client

The organization supports the Health Services Portfolio Technical Management and Strategic Solutioning Support program within the Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Information and Technology. This program addresses IT challenges related to veterans' health services by providing technical management and strategic solutions within a federal government context.

About the Opportunity

The SQA Tester is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing testing methods to ensure IT products meet specifications. This role collaborates with developers, end users, and teams to create and execute test plans and scripts, manage test events, track issues, and support defect resolution. The position ensures quality assurance processes are followed and contributes to continuous improvement of testing procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Develop test plans, scripts, scenarios, and various types of tests including functional, regression, and deployment
  • Cook up test events with test sites and team members
  • Implement testing processes and ensure adherence
  • Produce reports on test activities and track relevant metrics
  • Monitor and analyze testing outcomes to suggest process improvements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field plus 10 years of experience, or 8 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • Experience in the software development lifecycle
  • Experience testing GUI applications, Section 508 compliance, and Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA)
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio), MS SharePoint, and MS Teams
  • Experience using Jira in Agile or SAFe environments
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a remote setting
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs or other federal agencies
  • Familiarity with VA project management and reporting methodologies
  • Experience in VA Pharmacy domain
  • Ability to quickly learn new skills and client environments
  • Strong prioritization, time management, attention to detail, and organizational skills

Clearance Required

Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust VA clearance

Pay Range and Compensation Package

The pay range and compensation package for this role will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and other relevant factors.
