SPVR HUSBANDRY OPERATIONS

Position Overview

The Supervisor Husbandry Operations provides direct support of daily operations in the animal care facilities. The supervisor supports the facility leadership, researchers, and animal care staff ensuring the high standards of animal care and welfare.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and support Research Animal Care Technicians across multiple levels
• Aid in developing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training materials
• Maintain proper maintenance of animal room equipment
• Monitor recordkeeping and ensure compliance with all regulatory and departmental policies
• Assist with team scheduling and operational coordination

• Demonstrated supervisory experience
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
• Professional communication skills with all levels of staff
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed
• Physically able to remain active and on your feet throughout the day

Credentials & Qualifications

• Associate’s degree + 5 years of animal care experience required OR High school diploma + 7 years of relevant experience
• LAT certification (AALAS) required
• LATG certification (AALAS) preferred (required within 2 years of hire)
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a research animal facility preferred
• Prior supervisory experience strongly preferred
