About the Role

The basic function of this position is to install and troubleshoot fire sprinkler systems while working under the supervision of a more senior technician or supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the installation and troubleshooting of fire protection sprinkler systems for commercial applications (including piping, valves, and accessories).
• Prepare accurate and timely documentation for work performed, complete monthly vehicle reports, and maintain truck inventory to ensure proper response to customers’ needs.
• Adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
• Ensure a positive customer experience.
• Demonstrate a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of a high school diploma or vocational training.
• One (1) year of experience in all fire sprinkler systems (wet, dry).
• Ability to learn NFPA 13, 13(R), 13(D), 14, 20, and 24.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a drug screening.
• Ability to read and interpret documents, materials, policies, and procedures in English.
• Must obtain and retain any required product certifications and/or licenses mandated by national, state, and local codes.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, twist, use hands, reach with hands and arms, push, pull, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Use vision abilities including close, distance, peripheral, depth, and color perception.
• Work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions/circumstances, such as with ladders, scaffolding, high-lift equipment, wires, ducts, crawl spaces, attics, and above ceilings.
• Lift, move, and hold up to approximately 50 lbs.
• Work a full-time, flexible schedule with “on-call availability” and travel on short notice.
• Drive a motor vehicle (day and evenings) for extended time periods.
