Sprinkler Fitter

About the role

Cen Cal Fire Systems, a division of Sciens Building Solutions, is seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Fitter to provide installation services of all forms of fire sprinkler systems and components. This is a key position for our growing team and requires attention to detail in all aspects of NFPA-based fire sprinkler systems. The ability to problem-solve and communicate effectively with the Designer, Project Manager, and General Contractor is an integral part of this position.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and install prefabricated fire sprinkler piping
• Work under tight deadlines
• Install new, retrofit, and tenant improvement type projects
• Cut, thread, and groove pipe to trade specifications
• Provide support, guidance, and expertise to other field installers and helpers
• Maintain knowledge of OSHA safety standards

Requirements

• Four years of experience in field installation of fire sprinkler systems
• CalFire Fire Sprinkler Fitter Certification card (required)
• Knowledge of NFPA 13
• Knowledge of NFPA 20 and 24 (a plus but not required)
• Ability to read fire system design drawings
• Ability to use trade-appropriate tools to perform daily pipe fitting duties efficiently and safely
• Excellent organizational, decision-making, and communication skills
