About the role

Alfa Art Gallery believes that visual art is the most universal and powerful form of communication—capable of transcending language, culture, and geography. Guided by this conviction, the gallery is dedicated to fostering an environment where artistic expression is accessible, celebrated, and critically engaged. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Alfa Art Gallery’s mission is to support both emerging and established artists by providing meaningful exposure, professional guidance, and opportunities to cultivate a strong critical following within the art community. The gallery serves as a cultural catalyst, promoting artistic growth, interdisciplinary dialogue, and active public engagement.

The Photography & Video Production Intern is a technology‑savvy individual with a strong interest in photography, videography, and digital media, who will assist with documenting gallery events, producing promotional materials, and photographing artworks. This is an academic‑credit internship offering hands‑on experience within a professional nonprofit gallery environment. A photo/video camera will be provided by the gallery.

  • Assist the curator and curatorial interns with planning and executing professional artist interviews.
  • Photograph artworks for exhibitions, publications, and digital platforms.

  • Technologically savvy and eager to learn.

  • Experience with video editing software such as iMovie or Adobe Premiere.
  • A portfolio of previous work is strongly preferred and will significantly influence the final selection.
