Responsibilities
- Recommend and apply pesticides and fertilizers using specialized equipment and vehicles.
- Maintain accurate log books detailing applicated acres and activities.
- Perform maintenance and calibration on application equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Follow up on weed control in sprayed areas.
- Wear proper protective equipment, actively promote safety, and adhere to all codes, laws, regulations, and procedures.
- Participate in continuing education for maintaining pesticide applicator licenses and attend applicator equipment workshops.
- Perform various tasks, including soil sampling, fertilizer mixing, equipment maintenance, and transportation of chemicals, fertilizer, and seed.
Requirements
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience in fertilizer and pesticide application.
- Certification: Current pesticide license/certification preferred.
- Knowledge and Skills: Familiarity with ag pesticides, weed identification, and mechanical aptitude. Communication: Strong communication skills, both oral and written. Attention to Detail: Display meticulous attention to detail in workmanship and completed tasks.
