Spray Painter

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

• Lift heavy objects by hand or using power hoist, and clean work area, machines, and equipment, using broom, rags, and cleaning compounds.
• May occasionally operate industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
• Observe parts to detect defects or equipment malfunction and reports as directed.
• Clean and prepare surfaces of manufactured products prior to the application of protective coatings.
• Load, unload, and move materials at work site.
• Spray surfaces of machines, manufactured products, or working area with protective or decorative material such as paint, enamel, or powder coating.
• Paint parts to required specifications for top coat finish.
• Learn top coat painting, demonstrate pride in work.
• Use paint gun, hoist, manlift, ladder, air gun and other necessary tools.
• Follow all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wear PPE as required.

Preferred Skills And Qualifications

• Prior experience as a Top Coat Painter is preferred.
• Ability to physically perform the job.
• Ability to pass the required respirator test to wear a paint respirator.
• Ability to follow inventory control procedures.
• Ability to give strong attention to detail and stay on-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Have a good understanding of team concepts and be a strong team player.
• Able to safely use hand and power tools; ability to read blueprints and tape measure, when needed.
• Capable of embracing a culture of Lean Manufacturing and implementation of change.
• Ability to follow all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed PPE as required.
