About the role

This position is responsible for safely finishing solid and veneered interior and exterior wood products using advanced finish spraying and sanding equipment. Production needs include customer orders, inventory, product samples, and product development prototypes.

Responsibilities

  • Operate finish spraying and sanding equipment to produce high-quality wood products.
  • Oversee the operation of the workstation, ensuring safe work practices and maintaining a safe environment for all associates.
  • Maintain high attention to detail, accuracy, and quality of work.
  • Responsible for the safety and well-being of self and all associates within the facility.
  • Read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including a respirator.

Requirements

  • 1 year of commercial/industrial finish paint/spray/stain experience.
  • Dependable, punctual, and good attendance record.
  • Ability to interact well with others to work safely and produce material that meets quality standards.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed.
  • Must be able to wear a respirator.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of wood finishing experience (spray finishing preferred).
  • Knowledge of wood products and finishing.
  • 1-3 years of past manufacturing experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • OSHA 10-hour training (preferred).

Physical Demands

The physical requirements for this role include:

  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

This role operates in a manufacturing setting with the following characteristics:

  • Occasional exposure to hot/cold temperatures.
  • Uneven walking surfaces with cords, tools, and other obstacles.
  • Intermittent loud noises and dusty or dirty conditions.

Required PPE includes safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe shoes. Additional PPE is available upon request.

Pay

The estimated base salary range for this role is competitive and based on location, skills, expertise, experience, and other relevant factors.

Schedule

  • 2nd Shift: Monday to Thursday, 3:15 p.m. – 1:45 a.m.
  • Overtime on Friday and Saturday as needed.
