Employment status: Full-Time. The estimated base salary range for this role is competitive and based on location, skills, expertise, experience, and other relevant factors.

About the role

This position is responsible for safely finishing solid and veneered interior and exterior wood products using advanced finish spraying and sanding equipment. Production needs include but are not limited to customer orders, inventory, product samples, and product development prototypes.

Responsible for the safety and well-being of self as well as all associates within the facility. High attention to detail, accuracy, and quality of work. Oversee the operation of the workstation, ensuring safe work practices as well as keeping the work area a safe environment for all who work or enter the area.

Responsibilities

  • Operate finish spraying and sanding equipment to produce high-quality wood products.
  • Ensure safe work practices and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Meet production needs including customer orders, inventory, product samples, and prototypes.
  • Maintain high attention to detail, accuracy, and quality of work.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Required: 1 year of commercial/industrial finish paint/spray/stain experience.
  • Dependable, punctual, with good attendance.
  • Ability to interact well with others to work safely and produce quality material.
  • Must be able to read Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Must be able to wear a respirator.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

  • Desired: 1-2 years of wood finishing experience (spray finishing preferred).
  • Desired: Knowledge of wood products and finishing.
  • Desired: 1-3 years of past manufacturing experience.
  • Desired: High School Diploma or GED.
  • OSHA 10-hour training preferred.

  • Must frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

  • Plant environment with occasional hot/cold temperatures, uneven walking surfaces, cords, tools, and other obstacles.
  • Intermittent loud noises and dusty or dirty conditions.
  • Required PPE: safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shoes, and other department-specific PPE.
  • This position is not exposed to adverse environmental conditions.

Schedule

  • 2nd Shift: 3:15 p.m. – 1:45 a.m., Monday to Thursday (4/10 schedule).
  • Overtime on Friday/Saturday as needed.
