Spotter Driver - 520-Supercenter - Jo

Wage: $21.00/hour + based on experience. Full-time position with a typical shift of 6am–4pm and some Saturdays during the fall. Location: Joliet, IL.

Responsibilities

• Move 20 ft and 40 ft shipping containers within the container yard using an industrial tractor
• Efficiently back containers up to the loading dock
• Open and close container doors before and after loading
• Move 20–50 containers per day in an 8–10 hour shift
• Hook and unhook trailers, move trailers in and out of doors, secure and seal outbound trailer doors
• Perform daily inspections of industrial truck and refuel as needed
• Document and report all maintenance and safety issues
• Complete daily yard checks and biweekly company chassis inspections for damage
• Assist dock personnel with stocking the loading dock and daily cleaning
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned or needed, including assisting in grain handling operations

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to work outside year-round in all weather conditions
• Excellent people skills and ability to collaborate with a team
• Flexibility to multitask and work in a fast-moving environment
• Ability to work long hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings

Work Environment

This job operates in an outdoor environment with exposure to grain dust, weather elements, and heavy truck and machinery activity.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to talk or hear
• Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms
• Must be able to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, and handle heights up to 150 feet
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively
• Manual labor job requiring physical stamina in all weather conditions
