About the role

A Spotter is responsible for observing work activities and identifying potential safety hazards to help prevent accidents and injuries. They provide guidance to equipment operators and workers during lifting, moving, or high-risk tasks, maintain clear communication, ensure compliance with safety procedures, and help create a safe working environment. Spotters also report unsafe conditions and support overall site safety efforts.

This position drives trucks or tractors at vehicle parking or loading docking areas to move, position, or park trailers. The role reports to the Shipping and Receiving Manager and operates on-site in West Chicago, IL, with a shift from 5 am to 1:30 pm, including flexibility for overtime and some Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Drive trucks around dock areas for transportation or department needs
• Spot (position) loaded or unloaded trailers at assigned docks for unloading or loading using a tractor
• Connect loaded trailers to tractors for delivery drivers
• Fuel tractors
• Assist workers in loading and unloading trucks and trailers
• Maintain trucks in proper working condition
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Able to read, write, and speak English
• Able to sit for 8 hours
• Able to lift and carry 70 lbs
• Must have a valid and clear driving record
• Must pass a DOT Physical
