Spot Weld Associate

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is seeking a Spot Weld Associate.

Pay

The hourly rate for this position is $16.00 per hour. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Please note the salary information shown is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Schedule

Friday–Sunday, 5:00 PM – 5:00 AM

Responsibilities

• Operate a spot welding machine to manufacture trim assemblies safely and in a timely manner while adhering to Eaton’s high-quality standards.
• Exhibit a strong adherence to quality by continually seeking methods of improvement for all functions of the position.
• Ensure that all products and parts adequately meet Eaton’s quality guidelines as they move throughout the production process.
• Perform quality checks as instructed.
• Receive, support, and carry out work assignments from management and internal customers to fulfill production requirements in a timely manner.
• Perform assigned functions from oral or written instructions, closely following established procedures.
• Comply with all safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment in a safe and competent manner.
• Understand and meet all departmental safety objectives and goals.
• Keep assigned work-area clean, organized, and orderly per 5S standards.
• Ensure all safety and industrial hygiene requirements are maintained.
• Utilize computers to look up and print job-specific details and compare information obtained to physical products.
• Work with members of a team to effectively complete work assignments, receiving information from team members regarding customer needs and product requirements.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance when required to ensure peak performance of all manufacturing equipment.

• Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.
• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Sumter, SC will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Qualifications

• Basic Qualifications:
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.

• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of Lean concepts.
  • Computer literate.
  • Previous experience with cranes and forklifts.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, persuasive skills, and analytical problem-solving skills with individuals and groups to effectively participate within a team environment.
  • Experience reading blueprints, manufacturing diagrams or drawings, or operating instructions.
  • Experience with measuring devices (e.g., tape measure and calipers).

• Frequently required to stoop, lift, carry, push, pull, and grip.
• Frequently required to lift or carry up to 35 pounds.
• Frequently required to push or pull up to or greater than 35 pounds.
• Vision requirements include far and close vision with depth perception and color discrimination.
• Regularly required to listen and talk.
