Essential Functions

  • Supports the day-to-day functions of sports and other recreation programs and facilities operated by the City of Moab.
  • Attends and oversees evening and weekend sporting events organized by the Moab Sports Dept.
  • Performs general administrative and customer service support.
  • Affords assistance with recreation equipment inventory control and maintenance.
  • Coordinates and executes special recreational and community activities and events.
  • Assists in overseeing the adult sports programs within the Recreation Department under the direction of the Sports Manager and Sports Assistant, and assists with the development of new programs and activities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education and Experience: High school diploma Two (2) years of experience with recreation programming
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Working knowledge of sports offered and applicable rules and guidelines Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with city employees, volunteers and the public
  • Special Qualifications: Upon employment, must possess a valid Utah driver's license

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Outdoor activities will be required.
  • Tasks may entail muscular strain, including walking, standing, stooping, sitting, reaching, and lifting.
  • Talking, hearing, and seeing are essential to performing job requirements.
  • Common eye, hand and finger dexterity is required for most essential functions.
