Sports Official

About the Role

The Sports Official holds responsibility to officiate youth sports in accordance with YMCA goals and objectives.

What You'll Do

• Act in accordance with YMCA of the USA Youth Sports policies and procedures at all times
• Build relationships with participants, parents, coaches, and officials
• Maintain a safe sports environment at all times
• Make sure that non-participants are not interfering with game play or participation of team members
• Conduct a coaches' meeting before each game
• Ensures compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older
• HS diploma/GED preferred
• Minimum of two (2) years officiating sports
• Possesses advanced knowledge of the sport
• Display appropriate maturity level and ability to relate to all ages and ability levels
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Obtain and maintain all additional new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire
