About the Course

Explore careers in rehabilitative medicine while learning entry-level skills in sports medicine, physical therapy, and occupational therapy. This two-credit, year-long course is open to students in grades 10, 11, and 12.

• Prevention of injuries
• Ambulation techniques
• Range of motion activities
• Anatomy and physiology with an emphasis on musculoskeletal systems
• Medical terminology
• Legal and ethical issues
• Communications and teamwork
• OSHA safety standards

Opportunities

Qualifying students will have the opportunity to participate in a job-shadowing experience.

Graduation Requirements

Successful completion of this course fulfills the following high school graduation requirements: credit in Visual, Performing, or Applied Arts OR the third science requirement.
