Sports Media Content Specialist
About the role
Creates digital content that supports UTA Athletics' social media, recruiting, marketing, and promotional efforts. Working under the direction of the Assistant Athletic Director for Creative Services, this position captures and creates video, photography, graphics, and other digital content for assigned sports and departmental initiatives. The position works with coaches, student-athletes, and Athletics staff to develop timely and engaging content while following UTA Athletics brand standards.
Essential Functions
- Create, edit, and publish video, photography, graphics, and other digital content for Athletics social media platforms, recruiting, marketing, and departmental initiatives.
- Provide creative coverage for assigned sports, including practices, competitions, student-athlete features, interviews, community activities, and other Athletics events.
- Create short-form and platform-specific content for Athletics social media channels, including highlights, behind-the-scenes content, student-athlete features, and other timely content.
- Assist with team media days and other planned creative projects by capturing video and photography and producing assigned digital content.
- Work with the Assistant Athletic Director for Creative Services and other Athletics staff to complete assigned creative projects, coordinate content needs, and meet established deadlines.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in communications, digital media, graphic design, marketing, broadcasting, journalism, or a related field with experience or exposure to digital content creation through employment, internships, student work, freelance work, or similar experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- One (1) year of related experience or internships, preferably in athletics or sports.
- Experience creating content for social media or digital platforms and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and photography/video equipment.
- Portfolio or work samples demonstrating digital content creation.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Working knowledge of video production, photography, editing, and graphic design.
- Ability to create engaging content within established brand standards.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to learn and apply new creative technologies and digital trends.
- Strong attention to detail.
Pay
The annual salary for this position ranges from $45,400 to $45,400.
Schedule
- 25% travel.
- Requires occasional evening or weekend hours.
- Requires non-traditional work hours such as early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays.
- May work in all weather conditions.
- Lifting and moving objects.
- Prolonged sitting, standing, and walking required.
